Felling really Poo!!

Im really feel like crap at the moment. Im not sure why but everything seems to be getting me down at the moment. Work is stressing me out, the "family" is getting me down, Monkey Man is having problems at work as well so he is coming home with the ump, Our room is a state but im sick of being the only one who tidies it so im ignoring it but thats stressing me out even more. I didnt really follow my diet this week so have only lost half a pound, im determined to do better next week. I only have 2.5lbs to go and ive reached my 5% goal and only 3lbs to go and ive lost a stone. Fingers crossed.

Here is a pic of the lovely Sally from my knitting group. She had finished her first sock and was sitting in the pub wearing just the one! She has since finished the 2nd one but is amazed at how big they both are! LOL

This is my Blanket Bob, he is the 3rd one i have made but the other 2 have already gone to their new home. I really love this pattern, its so quick and so easy and great as a last minute gift for a little kid or a new baby.

Im seeing my Dad and the rest of his motley crew on Sunday so will have some new pics to post plus im going to pop in and see my bestest friend who i havent seen in ages. I miss her like mad and cant wait to have a good old chin wag (and a big hug)

Hopefully ill be in a better mood next week.

Maybe not so proud

Well i worked out that its not actually a 5.5 mile walk from my house to work its only 3.7!!! So as you can imagine im very annoyed! It equates to a 16min mile not a 10.9 min mile. I haven't been tracking my diet this week so am pretty sure i will have gained when i jump on the scales on Thursday. Im generally feeling a little bit down hearted this week and am unsure why. I keep forgetting to take my Metformin and am getting angry about that too. I think i need a kick in the pants.

Proud for a number of reasons

Well im feeling extremely proud today. I received a call from my mum last night informing me that im going to be an auntie!! My Brother's girlfriend is 12 weeks pregnant. I called my brother and he is over the moon. Im really pleased for him and suggested that i can knit something for the baby and he said "no you bloody wont" lol my brother and his GF are into heavy rock and are into the grunge scene. Im thinking of making a skull baby blanket and maybe a pair of black and white twinkle toes baby booties as well. I think that will go down ok. I was a little bit sad that its not me giving our parents their first grandchild but i don't think that will ever happen so im not to bad today. Although I did say to the monkey man last night that if my sister announces that she is getting married (as she is already engaged - before me) then we have to elope and get wed before her!!!

I am also proud of myself as i walked all the way to work today which is 5.5 miles and i managed to do it in an hour which equates to a 10.9 minute mile! and considering a few weeks ago i was taking 20 mins a mile im very very pleased!

Race for Life here i come!!!!!

A weekend of not much....

Monkey Man and I didnt do much this weekend. MIL went to the allotment so i took advantage of her lack of presence and the glorious weather to do as much washing as possible on Saturday (4 Loads). By Saturday night i had a terrible bout of IBS, i am currently undiagnosed but im 99% sure its what i have, at 11 o'clock Saturday night im pacing round the living room, huffing and puffing like a woman in labour, the cramps were so intense my legs went numb and i thought i was going to pass out.

I finally got to bed about 2am and by Sunday morning i was very drained and very grouchy, only to be woken up by MM and MIL banging doors and doing housework. I was not a happy bunny. MIL went back to the allotment and because i didnt want to risk being far from home we had no choice but to stay home. I managed to get another 3 loads of washing done, we went food shopping and got the car washed.

I also managed to get my stole finished:

What a Week!!!

Ive had a very stressful busy week this week! I finished the Intrepid Trekker fingerless gloves on Monday Night:

Tuesday was knitting group and i didnt really get to spend much time chatting, i was busy teaching the barmaid how to knit, lasdt week we did knit stitch and she seems to have that down so this week we went to Purl stitch and shes got that one too. Ive shown her how 1 row knit and 1 row purl makes stocking stitch and how k1 p1 makes a rib so ive set her homework and we will see how how gets on. Watch this space!

Im currently reading the 3rd of the Riley Jensen Guardian series and im loving it so much that im neglecting other things! like replying to my penpals, i have 3 letters to reply to and managed to get one done last night and just need to post it. I intend to do the rest tonight.

I havent mentioned before but ive joined Weight Watchers! It was my 3rd weigh in last night and i lost 2 pounds. That makes a grand total of half a stone in only 3 weeks! im loving the diet and finding it really easy. Not only am i monitering my weight loss but aslo my inch loss. I normally measure after the weigh in but forgot to last night. But as of last thursday ive lost 1.5 inches from my upper arm, 1.5 inches of my thighes, 3.5 from my bust, 2.5 from my waist and 2.5 from my hips!!!

Im currently knitting a Denim baby dress for my friends baby and a simply stole for myself. I need to get started on the wedding shrugs but need to get measurements first. Im hoping to see them at the end of the month to get them.

Knit24seven from the knitting group brought me a little present on Tuesdays meeting:

Her daughter is a crocheter and she made this for me!! I love it!!!

My Weekend

Well, my weekend actually started on Friday! I was off sick due to some very dodgy chicken that I ate. Between running back and forth to the bathroom i managed to get a few loads of washing out on the line (to me there is nothing better than the smell and feel of line dried clothes).

Saturday Monkey Man and I got into our little rolo days (our car - our reg id RO10 DYS) and headed for the coast! We got to Mudeford and paid £5 for the parking when Monkey Man decided that he couldn't stay there (it would have been his Dads BD on Thursday and he always took Monkey and his Brother there in the summer) so we got back in the car and headed for nowhere .............and ended up in Oxford! We drove around the town then Monkey decided he wanted Fish and chips from Jacks Fish and chip shop in Bagshot. So we put Bagshot in the Satnav and after about 30 miles were a bit confused with the route it was taking only to realise that we were heading for Bagshot in Berkshire not Bagshot in Surrey! Needless to say we clocked up a few miles on Saturday! And we didn't get any Fish and Chips either!

Then Sunday Monkey Man said he wanted to go fishing but it doesn't really float my boat so i said id stay at home. He wanted to spend the day with me so we went to Leith Hill in Dorking instead. Its a mecca for ramblers and mountain bikers. Very Hilly and rugged. There is a beautiful little Farm shop in Gomshall which is on the way there so we popped in and picked up a few bits. We walked around for about 5 hours and enjoyed the Sun (my face is a little pink now) Monkey Man's craving for Fish and Chips went up a notch so on the way home we searched for one, but alas none were open on a Sunday! by this time we were famished so stopped to get a pizza. By the time we'd eaten it Monkey man looked pregnant! lmao, very big belly syndrome was had by all.

I have finished the 2nd Riley Jensen book and will start the 3rd tonight. Ive just got the fingers to do on the Intrepid Trekker glove and they will be finished. Ive nearly finished the stole for myself and I need to get the bride and bridesmaid measurements so i can start the shrugs. Lots of knitting to be done!

My Bank Holiday

Well as i posted before, we didnt make it to Wales! But we did have a lovely weekend. (im having trouble remembering all of it as it seems so long ago) Oh yeah, Monkey man and i went for a drive in the new car on Friday to give its little legs a run and its great! we are both madly in love with him. We visited some family on Saturday which was nice. On Sunday we didnt do anything, spent the day in doing washing and i did a bit of knitting and on impulse we went to see "clash of the titans" in 3D, i thought it was a bit over rated and my vision means i dont really get the full effect of 3D anyway.

I have a few new post cards i need to send to penpals and have a feeling i have lost a letter that i wrote, It was in my bag with a post card and im sure i would have posted them both together but i have the postcard but no letter! Im unsure. I receive a lovely Easter card from Ms Oregan which was really nice and i need to write her reply today (something to keep me busy at lunch).

I am reading a series of books my Keri Arthur and after finishing the first book i picked up (what i thought was) book 2 and have read 3/4 of it and then felt as if i was missing something, i checked my book list only to discover that i was reading book 6!!!! As you can imagine im a bit miffed and im trying to forget what ive read so it doesnt spoil the story line! - I think that gets the Donut award this week.

Ive finished one of the Intrepid Trekker gloves for a lady at work:

Sue is trekking up Kilimanjaro in June and had asked me to make her a pair of longish fingerless gloves for when she is there, here is one finished one and im, currently working on the 2nd. I have also made her a Cowl to wear and when her husband saw it he wanted one so i have made him one too. I cant wait to see the pics of the things i have made at the top of the mountain!

I forgot it was Tuesday today and nearly left the house before realising its knitting group tonight (I cant wait) and so i quickly stuffed some knitting in my bag and am ready to go!

Change of plans

We are not going to Wales now. Due to the fact that the car is new, the train strike and the fact that it is the bank holiday weekend we didn't want to risk the traffic and the guy in the showroom advised against a very long journey considering we would have only had the car for a day. as you can imagine were a bit upset but will try to get down there in the May bank holiday.

I went to the doctors last night and my blood sugar levels are back to the lower end of normal range so I don't have to up my dosage of Metformin which is good, i will however have to be on it for the rest of my life, and I'm not exempt from paying for prescriptions so i think its going to add up over the years! He also told me that they cant do anything about the size of the ovaries at the moment but if my symptoms/pain levels change i need to go back to investigate why. He also confirmed that we will never get pregnant naturally and when we do decide to start trying for a baby we will need to be referred to a specialist and undergo hormone therapy of one kind or another.

We got our new car yesterday and i love it! We have a brand spanking new Fiat Panda Eco! It cute and little but has plenty of space inside, and it has a radio/cd player - a luxury we've never had. Its a bit slow at the minute because Monkey Man is driving carefully and breaking it in (i don't mind one bit he normally drives like a nutter)
