Dresses

Right, here are the pics of the dresses, I need your opinions. Im sorry about the picture quality and I do plan on wearing a "shaper" underneath to give me a better shape (get rid of the apron tummy)





I love them both, they both have there plus and minus points, The red one is longer but is very think so I get hot, the Black is lighter but alot shorter. Id love your comments and suggestions please. xxxxxx

Unplanned absence.............

Im sooooo sorry that i havent blogged in a while. Things have been pretty rough here and I've been negligent in all aspects of my life, Ive missed knitting group twice and have 3 pen pal letters to reply too and I've not sent any postcards in a while either!!

Monkey Man and I have been through a very rough patch and nearly went our separate ways. Things are still a little fragile but we are both working on it. Our biggest problem seems to be lack of conversation!!!

I am currently working on a crochet baby blanket for my brothers baby, the last of the wedding shrugs, which is looking fab at the minute and a black hoodie which is also for my brothers baby. I have some new yarn that I inherited from someone who no longer needs it. I haven't had a chance to take any pics but I will take some tonight and post about it tomorrow.

I will also get my letters written so Ggirl, Tia and Nichole I'm not ignoring you my loves I'm just up to my eyes in it at the mo. xxxxx

I was stressing and flapping around about something to wear to my Dad's wedding in 3 weeks time and had found a very cute black and white 1950's style halter neck dress on Ebay that i was going to buy today but the MIL went to Choice (a next seconds shop) on Saturday and picked up 2 dresses for £15.00. I was not convinced when she called me about them and then when I saw them i fell in love!!!!! they are both beautiful and now i have to decide which one to wear!!! I'm going to take a pic of me in both of them and post them and let you guys choose which looks better! Ive haven't worn a dress since i was about 10 so I'm a bit worried!

Well sorry again for my absence and keep an eye open tomorrow for pics of yarn, knitting and dresses.

Race For Life!!!!

Well I did it!! I finished the Race (Walk) for Life! The weather was amazingly hot and im very glad we did our walk in the morning and not in the afternoon as it would have been too much! Heres some pics:

I have been crocheting like a loon and have decided to make a cushion cover, one side has been done:



Im loving the stripyness and will probably do the back in a block colour Half Treble stitch. I will post more pics when im done. I have started on the last of the wedding shrugs and should be done with them soon. The wedding is only 4 weeks away so i need to pull my finger out.

Joanna invited some of us girls from work round to her house for dinner last night! I made a rocky road to take as well as a bottle of wine and some flowers. We had beef moussaka for dinner and ive never had it before but i really loved it, it was yummy. I put my hair up last night when it was still wet and it ended up as 1 single ringlet by the end of the night:


Although i cant get it to curl any other time!

Im a bad person!!!

My week!

What a week ive had, very up and down to be honest! I went to the Dr on Monday night and i have a trapped nerve in my groin due to a pulled muscle, told to take ibuprofen as its an anti-inflammatory as well as a pain killer. I also spoke to her about the constant ache i have in my right hip (ive had it for a very long time) she sent me for an xray which i had done on Tuesday morning. I took Tuesday off as holiday so i could get all my other bits and bobs done to and when i got back to work on Wednesday I was told i was having too much time off work, I explained about my IBS and the PCOS and I dont think they are really bothered they just want me to be here, so im determined to be here no matter what now!

This months issue of Lets Knit magazine is out and has some great patterns and also had this with it this month:

I love the colours and there is nothing better than free yarn!!!!

Donut Peaches! Monkey Man and I first had them last summer from the great little farm shop in Dorking. Not only do you get 6 yummy peaches you get 4 free stickers:

Woo, more free stuff, these stickers are great for decorating letters - hope you like them Ggirl!!!!!!

One of the guys I work with went to Paris at the weekend and brought me back a little pressie:

Whenever anyone goes away i always ask for a postcard to join my collection and not only did I get one i got a cool mouse mat for my desk too!!!

I recently brought a HK writing set and its all held in this pouch but i really really really love this design! i think its so cool and wonder if i could get it made into wallpaper?

For a Purpose!

Hi all!!! Ive had a pretty stressful weekend, mostly due to large amounts of pain! I seem to have a trapped nerve in my groin (im pretty sure thats what it is). The pain is very intense and wont go away and im going to see the doctor about it tonight!

Its come at a very bad time because its Race for Life on Sunday this week! Ive got all my bits sorted and im ready and raring to go and regardless of if im in pain or not im doing it! Even if i have to crawl! Cancer has touched my life on more than one occasion and im doing it for all those people I know and love that been affected by it.

Monkey Man and I spent most of the weekend doing housework and sorting out our room. We have been extremely savage and got rid of loads of stuff. During one of our breaks Monkey decided to do this:

Yes - he drew faces on my big toes! Hes so silly!

We also went to the allotment on Saturday because MIL is away and we needed yo water! We also did our first raspberry harvest of the season! they were amazing and we got quiet a large haul. We will be popping back tonight to water again and get some more raspberries.
