Well, I still haven't come to the end of all the rigmarole with regards to my personal health.
The nurse saw me a 2nd time to check my blood pressure and again it was high so it was decided that I would need to have a 24 hour cuff fitted. I went it to have it put on one evening after work and then had to drop it back off the next night. I was told by the nurse that it would go off every 30 mins during the day and then every hour over night. It did indeed go off every hour at night which made for an interesting nights sleep - or lack there of! but during the day it was going off every 10 mins! I was so fed up with it by the designated time to take it off because not only was it going off every 10 mins it also kept failing on the reading which made the cuff carry on tightening once it had reached its top point. As you can imagine I was in a great deal of discomfort and the guys at work also couldn't believe the colour that my arm was going! So by 4.30 the next day I was so relieved to have it off, I was very nearly tempted to take it off sooner but persevered with it. I did have a very sore arm for a few days after. I got a call from the nurse 2 days later informing me that my blood pressure is on the high side of normal and doesn't warrant medication so at least it was all worth it.
At the same time as having the cuff fitted I had a series of blood tests done and the nurse told me that one of the results would show what was causing the high blood pressure. So I called back after the 7 days to get my results and spoke to the nurse who told me that there was an issue with the kidney blood test and I would need to have another non fasted blood test done the next day! as you can imagine, I totally lost it, I was at work and got so upset over it that I had to go home early. My lovely boss dropped me off as I don't live far from the office and when I got home i rapidly changed into pyjamas and hid under the duvet! I also found a letter on the table from the doctors telling me I needed to go back for another fasted blood test. I was slightly confused because the nurse said I didn't have to fast. I called the doctors asking them to get the nurse to call me back asap. She didn't call me till the next day and then proceeded to tell me that the results she had given me were incorrect and it was my blood sugar test that was worrying and not the kidneys! I was livid and put in a formal complaint with the doctors surgery!
So I have had to go back and have another fasted glucose blood test. I had a letter from the doctors when I got home last night saying I needed to book an appointment so im guessing its not great news so it may mean im diabetic! I will let you all know the outcome of that one.
And with the contraception side of things I decided that the best option for me was the Merina Coil. I have had it fitted already, I wont go into detail but it was the most painful thing that I have ever experienced! The doctor assures me that once it settles down I wont menstruate for the duration of time its fitted for which will be more than worth the pain I went through!
I haven't really been doing much knitting/attending knitting group due to all of this but I have been spending as much time as possible with Ollie and have a few up beat happy posts to add and will try to do so asap!
Hope all is well with all of you xxxx

A new year = New Problems!
Well, there is so much that has happened and is still happening that I haven't had a chance to blog at all! I have all my Christmas/New Year stuff to share with you and will try to catch up soon.
As you can see from the title there are a few new problems for me on the health front. I went to the doctors to get a repeat prescription for the Pill and because I had only just registered there I had to see the nurse and have blood pressure/weight/height etc etc tests done before I could get it. Well to make a long story short I have high blood pressure! So its been back to the nurse for blood tests and blood pressure readings, then I was informed that they want to carry out a 24 hour cuff to see if I am suffering from white coat syndrome or high blood pressure. I have to do that on the 17th. My boss has a home testing blood pressure machine that he has lent to me that I have been using to monitor my pressure with and im pretty sure its high!.
She advised me that I need to reduce my caffeine and salt intake and try to reduce my stress levels too. I need to exercise more and start dieting. Well I don't add salt to my food and I only have coffee very occasionally if im tired and I don't drink tea. I know I need to lose weight and exercise more (that's my New Years resolution) but its not going to happen overnight. I'm worried about the results and how we are going to deal with it moving forward as I think stress is a major factor and short of quitting my job there is no way to get it under control.
So because of the above im not allowed to carry on with the Pill I was taking so I have been given alternatives that I can use. I have made my decision on what im going to do and have an appointment at the Clinic on the 25th and am also a little worried about that.
And to top it all off I am volunteering at the Panto for front of house again this week and am not getting home till very late, combine that with the inability to sleep for nearly a week, not going to knitting group since before Christmas and not seeing Ollie since Sunday(and I wont see him till Saturday night - 6 whole days) im a very very very unhappy bunny at the moment.
Im sorry to vent and share all my crappyness but a girl has to get it off her chest somewhere!
