Too many books, not enough time!

Do you remember this post?  I blogged about the new books I had and how I was looking forward to reading them? Well. . . . I haven't actually read any of the books I blogged about! I have however read other books. I have read the Fifty shades of Grey books and really enjoyed them. I have also read 77 Shadow Street by Dean Koontz:

It starts off as a scary haunted house type book and quickly evolves into something else. Definitely worth a read. I'm not a big autobiography reader but I came across Gok's one in a charity shop and thought id give it a go:

This was a very good read and its made me want to read a few more autobiography's so my next one will be:

I like Goldie Hawn and thought this might be an easy read so one my current pile of reading is finished I will give this a go.

My current reading - which I'm totally addicted to is the Game of Thrones series:

Normally when I read I have a few books on the go, the norm is a Koontz, an easy read (girly fiction) and a true life crime book. I am so engrossed in these books I cannot put them down let alone think of reading anything else! I would suggest these books to anyone! They are gripping.

I am the sort of reader that reads books when they come out and then when a new one comes out I have to read the whole series again so I know where the story picks off, needles to say I know the 1st Harry Potter word for word! the same as the 1st Odd Thomas book and the 1st Frankenstein book. Which brings me to my next 2 sets of books to read:

The 5th instalment to the Odd Thomas and Frankenstein books! As soon as I finish Games of Thrones I will re-read the Odd books and then the Frankensteins. After that I need to read the Sookie series again so I can read the new installment of that and then comes The Hunger Games.

These have been recommended to me so I'm going to read the books before I watch the movie. And then the final book on my to be read list is The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown:

I've had this book for ages and just haven't gotten round to reading it! So as you can see, I defiantly have too many books and not enough time!

A few weeks ago Sue and I went to the Farm Shop. I love the farm shop, fresh fruit and veg, flowers all over the place, a local butchers meat for sale, its wonderful. Last time we were there I took a few pics which I have just found on my camera that I wanted to share with you:

I made a bag.

A while ago (18 months) I brouht some Katia Tobago cotton yarn with the intention of making  granny square form each shade and joining them together. I was only after buying one ball of each colourway and making the granny squares that I realised there are only 7 colours and they wouldn't be big enough for a blanket so I was left with 7 squares that I couldn't do anything with. That was until I stumbled across this pattern.  Perfect right? Perfect indeed! So I hastily sewed 3 of the squares together and added a handle then I lined it and ...............Tah Da!!!

I made bags! I gave the Blue/Purple one to the lovely Bev for her birthday and still need to hand sew the lining in the other one.

Creeper Blanket

For those of you who don't know him to well here is a little bit of info about Ollie - He is a computer game freak! He loves his computer! I honestly think that if it came down to him choosing between me and the computer, he would pick the computer (I would never make him choose because I have my knitting/crochet so gaming is his thing) He has played all of the games I can think of and he loves Diablo 3, Skyrim, World Of warcraft (not so much any more) and Minecraft.

Which brings me onto the subject of this post. I saw this on Pintrest:

A lady has made a blanket from the image of a creeper! (a creeper is a walking bomb that blows up you and everything around you and should be avoided at all costs). Ollie has asked me in the past to make him a creeper like this:

But I'm not very good at toy making with crochet so when I saw the blanket inspiration hit! Im going to make him a granny square version of that blanket! It is made up of 8 different shades of green (one of which is actually grey) and black squares. Here are the colours I have chosen:

Ive worked out that it takes me about 15 minutes to make a 4 inch square. I've already made 19 squares but find it hard to stop other projects to work on this. Our friend Anna is pregnant and due in December so I am busy making baby bits at the minute. I will even out the crafty love though and make sure that I do a little of each every day.
